SCUFStick drift test and calibration guide

SCUF Controller: stick drift test and fix

SCUF pads are heavily modified controllers - paddles, adjustable triggers, swappable thumbsticks - and they are used hard, which makes genuine stick wear a realistic outcome. DriftNo gives you a measurement per stick rather than a feeling, which matters on a pad this expensive.

What to expect with the SCUF Controller

How DriftNo treats this pad for SCUF stick drift: what you can test in a browser, what can be written to the controller, and when a repair is the honest answer.

In practice

Swappable stick tops change height and feel but not the sensor underneath, so test with the configuration you compete with.

Key points

  • Built for heavy use; wear-based drift on conventional modules is plausible.
  • Swappable stick tops change feel, not the underlying sensor reading.
  • Xbox-protocol device: diagnostics full, calibration writes limited on the web.

SCUF Controller stick drift: common questions

Do taller stick tops make drift worse?

They amplify how much the stick moves for a given sensor change, so an existing offset can feel more obvious. The measured drift is the same - compare readings, not sensations.

My SCUF is in warranty and drifting. What is useful evidence?

A recorded resting drift percentage and a Health Score for the affected stick, taken with vendor deadzones minimised. Numbers travel better than descriptions.

Why is calibration limited in the browser on this pad?

Windows does not expose the same calibration write path for Xbox-protocol controllers that PlayStation pads allow over WebHID. Testing, Health Score and deadzone preview work normally; deeper calibration is what DriftNo on Steam is being built for.

How do I know whether to calibrate or replace the stick?

Run the scan first. Stable readings with an off-centre rest point point to calibration. Noisy, inconsistent readings, or drift that returns shortly after a fix, point to a worn module - replace it, then calibrate the new one.

Same platform family or common upgrade path from the SCUF Controller.

Test your SCUF Controller

Connect the controller and run a free scan. You will know in about two minutes whether this is a calibration job or a repair job.
